Frost Resistance
What is Frost Resistance?
It is the pressure to be applied to the brick during the freezing and thawing of the water contained in the material by the weather conditions. When the water freezes, it expands by volume and occupies more space than its volume. When the water in the brick freezes in this way, it exposes the brick to an internal pressure. Therefore, it is important for the brick to absorb water. As this amount increases, the amount in the internal press will increase.
However, the material must have an absolute water absorption during application. At this point, the resistance of the brick against breaking and cracking is important in order to provide resistance to this pressure.
The production of chamotte based bricks puts a load on the companies in terms of process and cost; It is a necessary method to provide the quality criteria expected from the material and to serve above it.
